Church Committees
Congregational Care Committee
Chair: Lisa Tandy / Co-Chair: Robin Woodruff
The Congregational Care Committee is responsible for the growth of the congregation's members
through personal and pastoral care.
The Committee has revised the Telephone Tree used by the Session in spreading important
news quickly. The Committee continued the policy of sending cards to members on special occasions,
paying extra attention to the church's shut-ins.
Among other things, the Committee reviewed the Shepherds Program, in which volunteer members of
the church are assigned "sheep" to watch over during the year. The Shepherds Program gives each
member of the Congregation a Shepherd to keep in touch with him or her throughout the year through
birthday and holiday cards, phone calls, or other means. Every year, an annual Recognition Dinner
is held to show appreciation for the efforts of the volunteer Shepherds.
All members who might enjoy taking an active role in the personal ministry of Fourth Presbyterian
Church are encouraged to contact the church office about joining the Congregational Care Committee.
The Congregational Care Committee meets the third Sunday of each month immediately following the
Worship Service.
The Committee hopes to see you in Church!
Stewardship / Property Committee

The joint Property/Stewardship committee meets monthly to consider the condition and needs of the
property of the church as well as the methods to provide funds and personnel to supply these needs.
The Finance portion of the committee looks at the budgets of all the church's committees to
plan the church budget for year.
Anyone interested in helping see to the property and financial needs of Fourth Presbyterian
Church is welcome to attend any of the meetings, which are usually held on the third Tuesday of
each month.
Worship Committee
Chair: Andy Poehner / Co-Chair: Robin Woodruff
The Worship Committee is responsible for the sequence and proportion of various parts of public
worship. Some of the work done by the Committee in 2002 included securing volunteers to serve as
ushers for Worship Services, recommending participation with the area churches for pulpit exchange
for Wednesday evening Lenten services, and planning a special Fourth of July Worship Service.
The Worship Committee is on the lookout for dedicated, creative persons to assist with fresh ideas
for the Worship of Fourth Presbyterian Church. Interested persons, members of the church, and
non-members (with approval of the Session) are invited to contact the church office for information
on this and any of the church's many varied committees. The Committee meets the first Sunday of
each month immediately following the Worship Service.
Please join us in Praising God during Worship on Sundays and any of the special events held
throughout the year!
Mission and Evangelism Committee
Chair: Frances Alexander / Co-Chair: Ed Maxwell
The Mission and Evangelism Committee advances both the mission program and the evangelism program
of Fourth Church.
For the Mission of Fourth Church, we advocate a great variety of mission work from the traditional
Christmas baskets and Presbytery programs, to the emergency efforts like sending aid to the
hurricane devastated areas of Central America. We sponsor many mission efforts and invite your
participation in the work of Jesus Christ.
One special mission effort we significantly support is our local community ministry - Ministries
United in South Central Louisville or MUSCL. Through MUSCL the folks who need help in our area
find an arm of the church that listens, helps, and responds in the name of Jesus Christ. MUSCL
provides meals on wheels through the Seniors Ministry, gives clothes through the Clothes Closet,
helps kids in the Juvenile Court Diversion program of the youth ministry, and listens to neighbors
through the Airport Ombudsman ministry.
For the Evangelism side, we use all the forms of advertising that we can, for example, we have this
website to tell you about Fourth Church. Then there is the newsletter, the newspaper excerpts in
the Neighborhood section, private letters, visitation, and the outside bulletin board. In these
ways we invite folks to visit and join the Fourth Presbyterian Church. Won't you come visit us?
The Mission and Evangelism Committee meets the first Sunday of each month immediately following
the Worship Service.
Fellowship Committee
Chair: Tracy Conder / Co-Chair: Darlene Williams
The Fellowship and Communication Committee of Fourth Church is dedicated to providing for the growth of its members, sharing in fellowship and mutual support. The Committee leads the Congregation continually to discover what God is doing in the world and to plan for change, renewal, and reformation under the Word of God.
The Committee sponsors a number of dinners, both catered and pot-luck, for various occasions throughout the year. The men of the church enjoy playing Dartball on Monday nights, the Bowling team meets on Wednesdays to play and enjoy fellowship with one another, and the golfers of the church enjoy participating in the church's various Golf Scrambles.
The whole congregation is often invited to join the Youth Group on their bi-annual camping outings, and the Annual Smorgasbord, sponsored by the Presbyterian Women, is always well-attended by many in the church and community.
The Committee is currently pursuing a wide variety of activities to encourage fellowship and active participation in Fourth Church. Any church members with creative ideas, are invited to join the Committee in furthering the fellowship and communication of the church.
The Fellowship Committee meets the second Sunday of each month immediately following the Worship Service.
