From Chris Deacon
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! It is a day of food, friends, family, and football! It is also a
day of thanks. It is a day set aside to celebrate the pilgrims gathering to give thanks
for surviving to the harvest. It is a day we set aside to give thanks for all we have.
As with most holidays, the actual holiday isn't the only day we should celebrate it.
Christmas isn't the only day we should celebrate the birth of Christ, we should celebrate
it in the way we live our lives every day. Easter isn't the only day we should celebrate
the death and resurrection of Christ, we should celebrate Christ's death and resurrection
every day by accepting the grace that God offers us all. Thanksgiving isn't the only day
we should give thanks for all God has blessed us with. After all Paul reminds us in
Ephesians 5:20, we should be "giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for
everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ". It's great to give thanks on Thanksgiving,
but we should remember to give thanks to God for all we have been blessed with every day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Faithfully,
Chris
